Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026 · Early-access / testing stage
wikiTaTa is free today. Early access is invite-only, no payment details are collected, and nothing can be charged — so there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund. This policy sets out the terms that will apply the moment paid plans launch, so you can read them before you ever decide to subscribe. See Pricing.

This policy is part of our Terms & Conditions and applies to subscriptions to wikiTaTa, operated by TMC555, LLC.

Cancel any time

You may cancel a subscription at any time, for any reason, from your account billing settings — or by emailing hello@wikitata.com from the address on the account. We confirm every cancellation in writing within one business day.

  • There is no cancellation fee and no notice period.
  • Your subscription stops renewing immediately — you are never charged again after cancelling.
  • Access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • You may export your content for 30 days after the subscription ends.

Refunds

  • Monthly plans — cancel within 7 days of your first charge for a full refund. After that, the current month is not refunded and access runs to the end of the period.
  • Annual plans — cancel within 30 days of the initial charge for a full refund. After that, we refund the unused whole months of the term on request.
  • After a price increase — if you cancel within 30 days of an increase taking effect, the charge at the new rate is refunded in full.
  • If we discontinue the service — we refund the unused portion of any prepaid term.
  • Extended outage — a service credit or refund proportional to the downtime, where a written service-level agreement applies.

Refunds we always issue

Regardless of anything else in this policy, we issue a full refund promptly in each of these cases:

  • A duplicate charge.
  • An incorrect amount charged — we refund the difference and issue a corrected receipt.
  • A charge you did not authorize.
  • A charge made after you asked to cancel.
  • Continued billing after an account was closed.
  • A paid feature that was never delivered or made available to you.

What is not refundable

  • A period during which the service was available to you and you simply did not use it, outside the cancellation windows above.
  • Charges older than 60 days, unless they fall into the "always refund" list above.

If you are unhappy for a reason not listed as refundable, tell us anyway at hello@wikitata.com. We review every request on its merits and will make it right where we think we fell short.

How to request a refund

Email hello@wikitata.com with the account email, the charge date and amount, and a short description of the issue. Please contact us within 60 days of the charge so we can investigate while records are fresh. We acknowledge every request within one business day and give you a decision, with our reasoning, within five business days. Verified billing errors are refunded immediately without waiting for that review.

Processing times

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe. We cannot refund to a different card or account.
  • We submit approved refunds within one business day of approval.
  • Card refunds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
  • Refunds are issued in USD, the currency of the original charge. Exchange-rate differences are set by your bank and are outside our control.
  • We do not charge any processing fee on a refund.

If a refund has not appeared after 10 business days, email us and we will send you the Stripe refund confirmation to give your bank.

Disputes & chargebacks

If something is wrong with a charge, please contact us first at hello@wikitata.com. We resolve the large majority of billing questions within a few business days, which is almost always faster than a card dispute, and a valid billing error is refunded without argument.

If you file a chargeback, we will respond to your card issuer with our transaction records. We may suspend a paid subscription while a disputed balance remains outstanding, and we will tell you in writing before doing so. Filing a chargeback does not waive any of your rights under this policy or applicable law.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law, including your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer. Where mandatory local law gives you stronger cancellation or refund rights, those rights apply. Material changes to this policy are announced at least 30 days in advance and never apply retroactively to a purchase already made.
